Abstract

This article analyzes the pedagogical foundations of developing critical thinking skills in the process of preparing children for school education. The study highlights the cognitive development characteristics of preschool children, the essence of the concept of critical thinking, and its significance in the initial stage of education. Furthermore, the possibilities of forming skills of analysis, comparison, drawing conclusions, and independent decision-making in children through problem-based learning, research-based approach, interactive methods, didactic games, and digital technologies are substantiated. The research results indicate that developing critical thinking skills from an early age increases the level of children's readiness for school education.
