This article analyzes the cognitive and metacognitive foundations of inferential skills, their development in the educational process, and their impact on students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, and metacognitive monitoring abilities. The study highlights the psychological and pedagogical components of the inference process and their inseparable connection with the individual’s cognitive characteristics and metacognitive strategies.
